Slackin' on my writing.

This week has been so busy! I haven't had anytime to blog BUT I always make time for a workout! I know it gets hard and you get tired, busy, less motivated. You have to treat it as you would a scheduled doctors appointment. You can't just say "Ohh ill go tomorrow!" . If you put it in your head as if its just another must keep appointment you will keep going. DON'T GIVE UP! You are worth it (:

Ask and you shall recieve! .

Alright alright alright! I had someone ask me to add a before picture of yours truly! Obviously I should have done this on the first blog buuut I lost all my pics when I made a new fb account. With some digging and creeping on my husbands page I found some! (JOY!)

Before

My stomach was wider and I  didnt have any definiton in my abs like I do now. My thighs are much smaller. I went down 2 sizes in jeans. I was like a 7 because my booty wouldnt fit into a 5! lol I am now a small 3.

Like I said before. I don't know it all and I don't claim to. I know what has worked for ME. I hope the tips I have started to give everyone has helped them so far... that's the whole point. If it weren't for people asking me for help/tips I never would have started this blog but I am glad I did and I am very happy with all the great messages and  all the thank yous I have recieved. Thank yourself though. YOU are the one doing the hard work.... I am just giving you some extra tools to get where you want to be!

 NOW!
 MUCH FOR DEFINED STOMACH!

To answer a couple questions I have recieved...

1. No, I am not trying to get rid of any more pounds! I am happy with my weight. I am just working on toning my body and maintaining.

2. Someone asked if I thought eating/dieting was more important than exercise. In MY opinion, I feel working out is a little more important BUT you still have to have a balance. You can't just eat endless amounts of junk and fast food and then get on the scale and think "what the hell?? Why havent I lost weight??".  When you workout on a regular, you can allow yourself cheat MEALS...not days! Eating right is important to me but I do feel working out tops the chart.

Need new running music! Ideas??  & Please keep up the messages and questions! I love them.

Happy Tuesday

Case of the Monday blues...

Ahhh, Monday. We meet again!! I woke up late and not feeling too well (typical Monday -_- )but I still managed to pack my lunch for today (in about 5 mins!) and grab me some breakfast that consisted of ice water, banana and a protein bar. If you can stay motivated on Monday morning to pack a healthy lunch then you're already off to a great start! If you don't pack a lunch then that usually leads to ... dun dun dunnn --FAST FOOD! lol Yesterday I didn't get a chance to let you in on my lunch and dinner choices so I'll go ahead and do that now.

Yesterday**

Lunch - A can of tuna light w/ less than a tsp of light mayo and sliced up pickles! 10 wheat thin crackers to scoop it out ! Celery sticks. 16oz bottle of water & a hand full of peanuts after because they sounded good (;

Dinner- 1 grilled chicken fajita w/ red peppers. 1 large salad--- i try to fill my plate with mostly greens/veggies.

I know that I worked out yesterday morning a little bit before the kids woke up but I pulled a double and went to the gym after dinner as well! Ill try to remember most of it....

......I started off with my abs and sides 1st. Then my running.

Weighted Side Bends

- I did these multiple times during the hr I was there. It targets the "muffin top". Although I do not have that little muffin man poking out over my jeans I still do this because it works very well and keeps my stomach/sides fit. If you are unsure of this workout...GOOGLE! You can find every workout I do on there and it will tell you how to do them. (That is actually where I find new ideas for my workouts! Gotta change it up!)

Biycle crunches

- I did these for about 3 mins as fast as I could! (Those suckers hurt! But a good hurt :D )

V Ups

- 3 sets of 15

Jump Rope

- For as long as my legs will let me. Changing from a fast to slow pace. I don't set a time limit on this...just let my body tell me when I need to stop. (and it will!)

Jumping Squats w/ a medicine ball

- 3 sets of 15

Planks

- For as long as my body would leg me go. I would also bring 1 leg up in the air above my butt then bring it back down, then do other leg.

Side steps w/ resistant band

- 4 sets of 15

Leg Press

- 3 sets of 20

Tredmill

- 2 miles of fast pace @ highest incline. Switching to running, sprints and walking.

The key is to not allow your body to get comfortable during the workout so it has to work harder. You will burn more calories during and after your workout, get faster and stronger, and increase overall cardiovascular fitness.

Elliptical
- the last 10 mins I did resistance level 5 and as fast as I could push.

A couple songs from my workout playlist yesterday... An upbeat song always makes me push harder!

Mariah Carey -- Obsessed
Maroon 5- payphone
Pink - One last kiss (loooooooove this!)
Bone thugs - Rebirth
Demi Lovato - Give your heart a break

Taking a break from the gym today since i pulled a double yesterday. I think it's important to atleast have 1 off day or even 2 days a week sometimes. Don't let yourself get burnt out!! Still fixing a good healthy dinner tonight though....as soon as I figure it out! (:

 <---- EXACTLY!

Sunday Funday!

Love Sunday mornings! When it's just me home with the kids I try to wake up before them and do some workouts in the living room before they get up. When it's Perry's weekend off too, I usually sleep in until he gets up and do my workouts later! (: This weekend, it's just me! Woke up about an hr before them. I made me some low fat strawberry yogurt w/ strawberries and banana! I just buy the BIG container of yogurt and scoop some out when I want it. Don't over do it. Remember you'll have your fruits as well! About 3 big strawberries and 1 banana.

You don't have to head out to the gym everytime to get a good workout. I prefer the gym because I like the environment and mood better. That is ME time!

This morning @ home.....

Jump rope - 30 mins off and on. Take breaks when you need to!  I would change speed alot. Fast to slow. I would go for as long as my legs would let me go and then take a sip of my water then go back at it! I like to think I look like Rocky Balboa....but I am sure I am not that skilled!

Jumping Squats - 3 sets of 15

Push ups - 60. I did these in 10's. I def have more leg power than my arms!

Vertical Leg Crunch - I do 4 sets of 25 --- 100

Bicycle Crunches - Do these w/ out stopping until 100 or more sometimes...

That is all I did this morning! Motherly duties called (:  I always always put my water in the freezer. Drinking cold water may increase your metabolic rate as the body works (burns calories) to heat the fluid to core temp. Just a way of burn a few calories here and there! They add up.

Time to update the ipod! Ill let you know what songs I add!

Reason #0556 to be fit...

"The grind always comes before the shine"

Wake up and get @ it!

Lets work it out together....

I have almost reached the 1 year mark since I started my healthy living. I honestly feel great. The best I have ever felt. I love the results I have recieved from working my ass off at the gym and at home. Cutting out soda and most all "junk" foods helped tremendously . Minus a few self indulgents (: (which I believe everyone needs to do atleast once a month. You can't deprive yourself.)  I never started out "fat" but I was not happy with my body. I had about 15 lbs that I wanted to get rid of ( I don't say "pounds I lost" because when you lose something, it is meant to be found and this weight however is not!). I had both of my children (5 yr old girl and 2 year old boy!) and I was only 22 and I just wanted more for my body.  I knew what I looked like pre-kids and although I may never look the same I can damn well try to get close! I want to be one of those moms that still can run 7 miles when she is 45! Being fit and healthy is not about being a size 0. I repeat.... it is not about being "skinny"! Everyone is going to look different. Everyone has a certain weight that they know and feel they look their best at. Everyone has a healthy weight for their height and that's what I try for. Just to be healthy.

I am not starting this blog because I think I know everything about fitness and nutrition because I don't. Probably far from it. I have started this for the many messages I have recieved with questions of what I do daily to tone my body/ what I eat. That makes me feel amazing. Like I can help other people and not just myself! I was incouraged to start a blog and so here I am..... (typos and all!)

I plan on posting pictures of my progress, food choices, motivation & even updating you with suggestions for workout music! Hey, that really matters! Good music can change your whole workout.

Lastly, before I start my 1st real blog. I find it only fair I share my body statistics from the beginning until now..

THEN                            NOW

height- 5'                       height- 5'  (no taller...damn!)
weight-  137                  weight- 115

22 lbs I have rid myself of! I may not know it all but what I do know has worked for me. I don't starve myself and I don't "diet". By eating right and working out every week you can reach the goals you want. Just keep going (:

Me now. After my 2 kids and some hard work!

& thank you to my husband. His exact words when I said I was nervous about publishing my 1st entry ...  "so, just do it!"
